The 18" PL1890BL is the largest woofer available in Pyle Audios Blue Wave series of car audio subwoofers. The Blue Wave series is intended to give car owners a higher quality sound and an affordable cost. As the name suggests, all the models in the Blue Wave series feature an injection molded cone that is blue in color, and even features a blue chrome-plated steel basket. Some of the functional features include non-fatiguing big rubber suspension, a bumped vented pole piece, silver plated terminal and 3" high temperature dual kapton voice coil. The PL1595BL is one of three 15" woofers available in Pyle Audios Blue Wave series of car audio subwoofers. The other 15" woofers are the PL1590BL, which is nearly the same as this model with a slightly different look and price, and the PLBW154, which most notable has a single 80 oz rather than the 2 x 90 oz magnet structure seen here. The Blue Wave series is intended to give car owners a higher quality sound and an affordable cost. JL Audio 12W1v2-4

The JL Audio 12W1v2-4 is a 12" sub-woofer available in JL Audio's W1v2 product series. The W1v2 series itself, which is the most affordable line of sub-woofers offered by JL Audio, borrows many technologies from JL's top of the line W7 and W6v2 sub-woofer line. Some of these technologies are VRC (vented reinforcement collar), Elevated Frame-Cooling and Floating Cone Attach Method. The 12W1v2-4 works best in small enclosures making it ideally suited for smaller or hard to fit vehicles. The mounting ring is removable and customizable making installation of the speaker grille-mesh simple with no extra required hardware. (Grille mesh inserts are sold seperately.) This also allows the ring to be painted to match the desired look of the car interior. The optimum power range for the 12W1v2-4 is 125-250W, and running over 300W will void the manufacturers warranty. To go over 300W, you will need to move up to the 13W1v2-4/8, or upgrade to one of JL's superior sub-woofer lines. The 12W1v2-4 has a free air resonance of 23.68 Hz with a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. However, like all the W1v2 sub-woofers, there is an 8 ohm version which is sold as the 12W1v2-8 allowing consumers to pick the sub-woofer which suits their audio set-up.

The MTX Audio Thunder Round TR7510 is a 12" 500-watt car subwoofer featuring an asymmetrical linear drive system to produce crisp, clear sound. The subwoofer is designed with a polypropylene cone woofer and compression molded NBR surround. It has a black anodized aluminum dust cap with a gothic-style MTX logo laser etched onto it and a die-cast aluminum basket for strength. The Infinity REF1250W is a single voice coil 12” subwoofer composed out of a high-efficiency polypropylene woofer cone that is lightweight and developed for higher sound output. The third model in the REFERENCE series, the REF1250W changes pace by increasing its subwoofer from the REF1050W and REF1052W’s 10” to 12” The REF1250W also supporters an increased nominal power handling of 300w (versus 250w), an improved weak power handling of 1200w (versus 1000w), a superior frequency response of 23Hz-400Hz (versus 25Hz-400Hz), and a better-quality sensitivity of 93dB (versus 91dB). The REF1250W does, however, include the REF1050W’s 4 ohm impedance and single 2” voice coil. In addition, the REF1250W features large-roll rubber surrounds, an in-board motor structure, and vented polepieces. This is a 15 inch dual voice coil speaker from Boss Audio Systems. It costs just under 100 dollars from the company but can be purchased direct elseware such as eBay for a significantly cheaper price. It is part of Boss's Diablo car audio series which is a mid-level line. Chaos being their low line and Outcast being their high-end line.

This woofer is rated at 700 RMS and 1400 Watts of peak power. It's mounting depth is 6 5/8 inches. It has a 140 oz magnet and a 2.5 inch voice coil.

The MTX Audio Thunder T8510 is a 10" car subwoofer featuring an asymmetrical linear drive system to produce crisp, clear sound. The subwoofer is designed with an injection-molded, carbon filled poly cone dust cap and aluminum deposition cone woofer for an increased stiffness to weight ratio. It also has a stitched high-roll NBR surround to maximize excursion and a die-cast aluminum frame for strength and durability. The JL Audio 12W6v2 is a 12" sub-woofer in JL Audios W6v2 product series. This series comes in 10", 12" and 13.5" models, and fits in just below JL Audio's benchmark W7 series of car audio subwoofers. The technology used and core design of the W6v2 line is universal for all models with such features as elevated frame-cooling, and several patented cone designs such as W-Cone and Floating Cone Attach Method to provide a lightweight yet stiff assembly. The 12W6v2 has a free air resonance of 25 Hz and like the 10W6v2, has a thermal power handling of 600W. Operation of the speaker over 600W will void the warranty. If looking to go to 750W, the 13W6v2 is recommended, or look in to the larger of the W7 series to go even higher. The 12W6v2 weighs in at 19.4 lbs and a mounting depth of 7.6". JL Audio 13W7

The JL Audio 13W7 is a 13" audio subwoofer, in the W7 product series. This series provides models in 8, 10, 12 and 13 inches. The core design is consistent across the product line. The first number represents the size in inches for the surface area of the speaker. The 13W7 offers a free air resonance of 23.5 Hz and a thermal power handling of 1,500 Watts, which is the highest offered in this product range. The 13W7 offers between 450 to 1,500 watts of power. Operation over 1,500 watts is not recommended for this model and voids the warranty. If you need less power, try the 12W7, which has a range of 250 W to 1,000 Watts or the 10W7, which has a range of 125 to 500 watts. Infinity KAPPA PERFECT 12VQ

The Infinity KAPPA PERFECT 12VQ is a 12” die-cast subwoofer with a magnesium-woofer cone and a single four-ohm voice coil. The fourth model in the KAPPA series, the 12VQ is a slight downgrade from the 12DVQ. Whereas the 12DVQ offered dual 3” voice coils and a 92dB sensitivity, the 12VQ offers only one 3” voice coil and an 89dB sensitivity. The 12VQ, however, maintains the 12DVQ’s 400w nominal power handling and 1600 peak power handling, not to mention its 23Hz-400Hz frequency and 8ohm impendence. The Pioneer TS-SW3041D is a 12" shallow mount subwoofer with a mounting depth of 3-1/4"(less than half of a typical sub in this class). This allows for wider mounting possibilities in different vehicles. Power handling is rated at 1400 max, 350 watts(rms) while the unique Air Suspension Control System locks air between the main cone and the drive cone for improved linearity and bass response. The 8" square Solo-Baric S8L5 is the smallest size available in Kicker's Solo-Baric L5 product line of car subwoofers. The L5 line itself fits in the middle of the subwoofers made available by Kicker. The first thing to note about the L5 series is their square shape giving them a maximum area, which is also used by Kickers Solo X and Solo Baric L7. The L5 series inherites the technology used in the L7 series, but with improved design and a new look. Like the more advanced Solo X line, the L5 woofers use SoloKon technology, which is a rigid vacuum-formed design with vented 360-degree back bracing to push mass quantities of air. The Santoprene surround attaches the cone to the stamped-steel basket and rear foam gasket allows a secure connection to any baffle. The high-temperature dual voice coils which cover a solid heat-dispersing pole pice, poly-cotton semi-progressive spider with perimter venting and long-lasting Spirallead tinsel leads allow the motor structure to handle high power loads. The MTX Audio Thunder T9922-22 is also known as the Jack Hammer-22 and is an audio subwoofer. Designed for the audiofile market, this subwoofer is quite large, with dimensions of 25 1/4" H x 44 3/4" W x 24 3/4" D. This unit will fit into the trunk of most full size SUV's and into smaller models if the third row of seats are removed. The Jack Hammer-22 is designed for use in competition. This unit must be installed by an authorized MTX Elite Status retailer, as modifications to the electrical system of your car are required. The 13.5" JL Audio 13W1v2-4 is the largest sub-woofer available in JL Audio's W1v2 product series. The W1v2 series itself, which is the most affordable line of sub-woofers offered by JL Audio, borrows many technologies from JL's top of the line W7 and W6v2 sub-woofer line. Some of these technologies are VRC (vented reinforcement collar), Elevated Frame-Cooling and Floating Cone Attach Method. The 13W1v2-4 works best in small enclosures making it ideally suited for smaller or hard to fit vehicles. The mounting ring is removable and customizable making installation of the speaker grille-mesh simple with no extra required hardware. (Grille mesh inserts are sold seperately.) The JVC CS-AW8520 is more expensive than most in the 2009 JVC Mobile line. Its expense translates into power and a particular set of features that make it stand out from the rest such as being a 15" subwoofer. It delivers a strong 4500 watt peak power and 1500 watts of RMS power. It has a triple stacked magnet delivers quite a punch. The cone is made out of paper and hemp, an effective and natural way to deliver sound. The JVC CS-AW8520 has additional features such as a dual-input 2 ohms voice coil, an aluminum-cast frame, santoprene surround, and copper and abs terminals. It has a decent frequency range from 20 to 500 hz and a sensitivity of 88db/W.m. The manufacturer's website does not list the product as having any sort of warranty.

The JVC CS-AW8040 is one of the more powerful and expensive members of the 2009 JVC mobile line. It is a small 10" subwoofer but gives the owner a large 3000 watts of maximum power handling with continuous 1000 watts RMS. It differs from its sister model, the JVC CS-SW7240, by being more powerful, smaller, and slightly more expensive. It uses dual 2 ohm voice coils and a rapid-fire impedence selector terminal that has fuse protection, a neccessary feature to increase the durability of the product. The subwoofer has a T3 Chassis that works together with heat transfer silicon to transfer the thermal energy to prevent overheating and long term damage. It uses a Kevlar Laminated HEMP Cone to enhance the sound and performance. The manufacture website does not list the JVC CS-AW8040 as having a 2 year warranty like some of the other models.

The 13.5" JL Audio 13W1v2-8 is the largest sub-woofer available in JL Audio's W1v2 product series. The W1v2 series itself, which is the most affordable line of sub-woofers offered by JL Audio, borrows many technologies from JL's top of the line W7 and W6v2 sub-woofer line.
