Electra makes really cool cruiser and townie bikes. Very simple but stylish frames with big fat tires and a nice cushy seat. The Straight 8 is all-black with red spokes, aluminum frame, 3-speed Shimano Nexus gear shifting, and coaster brakes.

Trek Montare

The Montare is the top of the line hybrid bike in the Dualsport line of mountain bikes by Trek and part of their Gary Fisher collection. The frame is similar to others in this series also using Gold-Series grade aluminum, with upgraded components that are lighter and better quality such as the aluminum steerer, Shimano M475 alloy disc hubs and Bontrager Ranger disc rims. The fork is a Suntour NRX with 63mm of travel and a remote lockout switch, which allows you to lock the shocks from the handlebars when riding on smooth surfaces where too much fluctuation can slow down the ride. Drivetrain is almost completely made with Shimano parts including the shifters, derailleurs and crank, and other Bontrager components include the saddle, seat post, handlebars and stem. This bike uses Promax Hornet Hydraulic disc brakes, which are slightly heavier than standard rim or 'v' breaks, although much more accurate and do not suffer the same drawbacks in wet and muddy conditions. In production since the mid nineties by Gary Fisher Bicycles, the Montare, now made by Trek comes in a Matte Lava Black/Titanic Black finish.

Trek Kaitai

The Kaitai is a 24 speed mountain/road bike set to be released by Trek in the fall of 2010 as part of it's Gary Fisher Collection. This is a step up from the base model called Bodega in the 'Dualsport' series of hybrid bicycles which share the same Gold-Series Aluminum frame and components such as brakeset, handlebars, stem, headset, saddle and seat post. The Kaitai however has upgraded Bontrager LT3 tires, Shimano Acera shifters and RM30 rear hub and Wellgo nylon body aluminum cage pedals. The SR Suntour NEX front suspension is the same, although with the added lockout option for smooth and efficient riding on smooth roads. The Kaitai was created by Gary Fisher Bicycles and has been in production since the mid nineties, this is simply a reintroduction to the same bike by Trek, available in Matte/Platinum Black and Matte/White Black. Schwinn Sierra 7

The Schwinn Sierra 7 is a lower mid-cost casual bike, available in two colors (black and dried herb). The Sierra line only comes in Schwinn's small size, which means that it is geared toward younger riders. The lightweight aluminum frame of the Sierra 7 has a sixty-eight degree geometry, a design that is geared toward comfort. The saddle and dual density grips of this bike are also designed for comfortability. The Hi-Ten TIG welded unicrown fork contributes to a smooth, easy ride. This model is a step down from the next-in-line Sierra 21 model in that the Sierra 21 has twenty-one speeds as opposed to seven speeds, and has a sealed bottom bracket (which helps to protect the bearings).

The Trek Earl is an entry level, bare bones casual utility bike designed for fun bike rides, traveling to and from work, and just getting by. Featured is a chromoly steel frame that is durable enough to survive years of use, but certainly not durable enough for rough conditions like gravely roads. Core though is a single speed drive train. Since it’s single speed, the only way to use the Earl is to peddle very hard. As such, the Earl has the benefit of also being a book bike for losing weight and/or building one’s leg muscles. For safety, the Earl includes a high grade brake system, fat tires, and a fat fender to ensure riders can stop at ease, and that also ensures the bike won’t fall apart in case a biker ever accidentally runs into a bush or car fender.

Trek 5th District

The Trek 4th District is a casual riding bike released into the District Line as a more comfortable and faster peer to the Trek 4th District. It uses the same components as its peer to allow for aggressive, edgy, and progressive riding, but it upgrades the stem and handlebar to give riders the added control needed to maintain stability and comfort, while also driving ahead with even faster speeds. The core remains the same Alpha Black aluminum frame that’s thin and tight for navigating through rough city streets with precision and speed. Also included is a special full chain guard that prevents bikers with baggy jeans or pants from getting their clothes caught in it while riding. Overall, the Trek 5th District is one of the District’s fastest and most powerful bikes.

The Bodega is a 21 speed entry model in Trek's Gary Fisher Collection 'Dualsport' line of hybrid mountain bikes designed for both city and off-road use. Lightweight Gold-Series Aluminum frame and multi-surface Bontrager LT2 tires make it both light and tough enough for rough roads and trails, and, the front suspension fork sports 63mm of travel which makes for a smoother ride on multiple terrains. The drivetrain has 7 speeds and features a Shimano cassette, crank, and front derailleur, as well as SRAM shifters and rear derailleur. Other Bontrager components include the seat, saddle, handlebars and stem, and also the wide Bontrager 750 36 hole alloy rims. Schwinn Voyageur IG3

The Schwinn Voyageur IG3 is a lower mid-cost three speed casual bike. Though they share many specs, a few key features make this model a step up from the lower cost Voyageur 21. First, the Voyageur IG3 is equipped with an SR Suntour NEX 4110 suspension fork, which is better with shock absorption than the Voyageur 21's SR Suntour M3000 fork. Another feature that differentiates the two models is the fact that the Voyageur IG3 has an internal gear hub, rather than a derailleur design. The internal gear hub system tends to offer a more dependable performance than the derailleur system. The double wall rims of the Voyageur IG3, which offer increased support, are the third feature that puts the Voyageur IG3 above the Voyageur 21. However, if having more speeds is a priority for you, the Voyageur 21 has twenty-one.

Designed for riding through a city, the Trek 4th District uses a lightweight Alpha Black aluminum frame and slick carbon fork that makes it easy for users to maneuver with edge, even though tight crowded corners. There’s also a free wheeling drivetrain with a full chain guard that ensures bikers don’t get their pants tangled up while riding. Schwinn Sierra IG3

The Schwinn Sierra IG3 is a mid-cost three speed bike, made for casual riding on paved and dirt paths. This model is a step up from the lower cost Sierra 21 model in a couple of key ways. First, this model is equipped with an internal gear hub, as opposed to a derailleur system. Besides being generally more reliable, the internal gear hub system requires less maintenance. Another difference between the two models is that the IG3 has a SR Suntour NEX 4110 suspension fork, as opposed to a straight-up rigid fork. The suspension-style fork is better for shock absorption. A third difference between the Sierra IG3 and the Sierra 21 is that the Sierra IG3 has double wall rims, which contribute lightweight durability to the bike. All of that being said, the Sierra 21 has more speeds (with twenty-one). One feature that the models have in common is a comfort-oriented geometry in the lightweight frame.

Schwinn Voyageur 21

The Schwinn Voyageur 21 is a lower mid-cost twenty-one speed casual bike made for everyday riding. To facilitate long rides, this bike is equipped with several comfort-oriented features. For example, the frame of the Voyageur 21 has a light weight, as well as a comfort-tuned geometry. The saddle is also comfort-tuned. The grips of this bike are dual density with a fabric cover, for a soft feel. This model differs from the higher cost Voyageur IG3 model in that the Voyageur IG3 is equipped with an internal gear hub (instead of the Voyageur 21's derailleur system), has a higher quality SR Suntour fork, and has double wall rims. The Voyageur IG3 also comes in larger sizes, so that it is geared toward a slightly older crowd. That being said, it is worth noting that the Voyageur IG3 has only three speeds.

Trek Utopia

The Utopia is part of Trek's Dualsport line of hybrid bikes originally made by Gary Fisher Bicycles since the mid 90's. It has been re-branded by Trek and set for a late fall 2010 release under their Gary Fisher collection. A step down from the top of the line Montare, this bike also uses superior disc brakes although mechanical not hydraulic, as well as a lockout front suspension fork albeit not by handlebar remote switch. This option enables the rider to lock the suspension system in the fork when riding on smooth stretches which improves the ride and reduces lag caused by a bouncing frame. It also has 27 speeds and a mostly Shimano drivetrain including the crank, shifters and derailleurs, as well as the same Bontrager Ranger disc rims and LT3 tires. The Gold Series grade aluminum frame is common to the entire Dualsport line of bicycles, offering sturdiness and light weight that is often found in higher priced frames, and is available in a Matte White/Black finish.

The Schwinn Sierra 21 is a casual bike, the middle offering in the young rider-oriented Sierra line. This model is a step up from the Sierra 7 in that it has twenty-one speeds instead of seven, and has a sealed bottom bracket to keep sand and dirt away from your bearings. That being said, this model lacks the higher cost IG3's internal gear hub (having a derailleur system instead), suspension fork (having a rigid fork instead), and double wall rims. Features shared throughout the line include dual density grips, which are made to feel good on your hands. Another shared feature geared toward comfort is a lightweight aluminum frame, which has a geometry of sixty-eight degrees.

Trek Classic

The Trek Classic is an entry level, bare bones casual utility bike geared for maximum comfort. Like the Earl, the Classic is certainly geared for riding through city streets while going to and from work or school. The difference is that the Classic hosts a curvier frame with a plusher seat and wider handlebars. These let riders stay more comfortable and maintain a more comfortable grip while riding. As such, the Classic is much more geared for fun riding along a beach or in a park, versus a bike for serious traveling, though it can still be used for the latter. Some positive aspects of the Classic include a durable brake system for swift stops, and a low maintenance design that allows riders to fix the unit themselves or get it repaired at a shop for a very inexpensive price.

The Trek Classic Steel is an entry level, bare bones casual utility bike geared for maximum comfort. It’s a downgrade from the original Classic in that it trades in a more sheen and higher quality alloy crank for a less expensive and less shiny steel crank. Despite the downgrade, the Classic Steel performs almost up to par with its predecessor. Like it, the Steel hosts a curvy frame with a plush seat and wide handlebars. These components allow a biker to remain comfortable while casually riding through city streets, a park, or a beach. Some of the other components it inherits include a durable brake system for quickly stopping, a single speed shifter so riders need not worry about switching gears for uphills and downhills, and a low maintenance design. The latter allows users to repair the Steel for a price much lower than the actual cost of the bike.

The Trek Gritty is a single speed, fixed gear bicycle which was originally made by Gary Fisher Bicycles and has been reintroduced by Trek as part of the new Gary Fisher Collection in a Matte Raw Tint color, slated for release in fall 2010. This is a bargain bike made from high tensile steel with rear-facing horizontal dropouts and gusseted head tube and seat cluster areas for a BMX look, replete with BMX style saddle, stem and break levers. The gusseting provides extra strength in highly tensile areas of the frame, while the horizontal dropouts allow the rear wheel to be easily removed. The wheels use alloy track hubs to support the Bontrager CR-65 rims which are fitted with Bontrager H2 700c tires, and the crank is a 3 piece Chromoly steel with 17T freewheel cassette on the rear hub.

The Triton is a road bike first available from Gary Fisher Bicycles in Pearl Blue color, and is now set for a fall 2010 release as part of Trek's Gary Fisher Collection in a Split Pea color. This is a basic one speed commuter road bike with drop handlebars and narrow Bontrager R1 700c tires for those who are in a hurry. The steel frame features chromoly horizontal dropouts for removing the rear wheel quickly, and fender and rack mounts for adding fenders and baskets for carrying your belongings. The rear wheel has a flip-flop hub which comes default in the freewheel position, letting you turn the pedals backwards freely while moving forward. Turning the back wheel around will use the other side of the hub which is fixed, so the pedals and the wheel are fixed and move together. An added feature for purists and old-fashioned types.

The Felt Café 1 is a low-cost casual bike. The Café Series 6061 aluminum frame of this bike has a relaxed geometry. The pedals of the Café 1 are Nylon Cruiser type pedals, in order to enhance the comfort of your ride. The grips of the Café 1 are Super Soft Kraton Rubber grips, yet another touch geared toward comfort. The foam saddle of this bike can be geared toward men or women, depending on what model you choose. The Touring Low-Rise handlebars come in a gender-specific shape, as well. The Café 1 comes equipped with an aluminum cup holder, as well as a safety bell. This bike differs from the higher cost Café 3 and Café 7 models in that it only has one speed, whereas the Café 3 and Café 7 have three and seven speeds, respectively (and so require a Shimano Revo twist grip to change speeds). The Felt Verza City 1 is an upper mid-cost casual bike. Though all three of the bikes in this series share most of the same specs, this is the most lightweight of the Verza City model bikes, which is what sets it apart from the lower cost models. The Verza City 1's butted 6061 aluminum frame is lightweight, and designed to be smooth-handling. The grips of this bike are ergonomically designed, and so offer a grip with minimum strain. The wheelset of the Verza City 1 consists of alloy doublewall rims and Felt XCity series tires, a combination that is designed to be durable as well as comfortable. The Tektro V-brakes of this bike are built for durability. The Cromo hardware handlebar of this bike is 31.8mm, with a seven degree rise, an angle that helps to make long rides comfortable. The saddle of this bike is designed to fit both men and women. Like the Verza City 2 model, this bike is equipped with a rear rack for carrying items with you. The Felt Verza City 1 casual bike comes in a glossy black and white finish.

M55 The Beast

The M55 The Beast is an electric bike, a flagship offering. M55 promotes this bike as being made for cross-country riding. The Beast's EB-PC electronic motor unit offers a 40mph top speed. The motor is equipped with a drive-integrated rotation sensor and adjustable electronic assist (to choose how much the motor supplements your pedaling). There is also a speed reduction gear mechanism in this motor, a safety feature. The battery cell and electric wiring for this motor are integrated, so that they do not get in the way of your riding. The Fox suspension helps to keep you braced. The Rohloff twist shifter gear shift of The Beast is made to be intuitive. The aluminum alloy crankset and CNC machined bottom bracket are custom made for this bike, which helps to ensure a comfortable feel. The Brembo brake levers are also custom designed. With components made of titanium, carbon and 7075 aluminum, M55's The Beast is geared toward durability.

The Felt Café 3 is a low-cost casual bike. Felt promotes this bike as inspired by European cruising bikes. The Touring Low-Rise handlebars of this bike are geared toward comfort, and come in a gender-specific shape, depending on what model you order. The foam saddle of this bike can also be geared toward men or women. The Café Series 6061 aluminum frame of this bike has a relaxed geometry. The pedals of the Café 3 are Nylon platforms with non-slip rubber tread, another feature made to up the comfort of your ride. The grips of the Café 3 are Super Soft Kraton Rubber, which will not strain your hands over the course of a long ride. The Café 3 comes equipped with an aluminum cup holder, as well as a safety bell. This bike differs from the lower cost Café 1 model in that it has three speeds as opposed to one, and so requires a Shimano Revo twist grip to change speeds. Trek Transport Plus

The Trek Transport+ is a forthcoming longtail cargo bike with electronic assist, foldup loading racks in the rear, front rack, and cargo bags. The Transport+ is being launched alongside the Transport, which is identical, although it lacks the 350 watt rear hub motor of the Transport+.

The Trek Transport is designed for urban cyclists who need to carry large loads with them. It includes a removable 350 watt rear hub motor which can be used to propel the bike without pedalling. It also features an aluminum frame, 21 speed gear shifter, wide stance kickstand and a front fender with mudflap. It also has front and rear lights designed directly into the bike, as well as front disk brakes and rear V-brakes. The Transport includes a front rack, and a rear cargo rack which can be folded up to save space. The bike also includes a Bontrager Transport cargo bag and features Trek's lifetime warranty.

Kona Humu

The Kona Humu is a mid range Asphalt Bicycle. This model comes in several different sizes that would suit varying ages for both youth and adult usage. The frame sizes available are 16/18/20 inches with the frames being made from Kona Cromoly Butted Steel and the fork made from Kona P2 Steel. The wheels for the Humu are Kenda K-Rad 26x2.3 and the rims are made from Alex Zuma 3.0. The seat type is a Velo Classic Cruiser and sits atop a Kona Thumb seatpost. The handlebar is a Kona Cruiser with 22.2mm rise. The Humu has a Tektro 849 breaking unit with the levers being Tektro Retro. Trek Cruiser Classic

The Trek Cruiser Classic is a basic bicycle built for short distances over even terrain. This is a single-gear bicycle, multiple gears not being introduced until the Cruiser Classic Steel 3. Unlike other models in the Cruiser series, the frame is made of Alpha White Aluminum for strength and light weight. The crank also differs in that it's a 3 piece alloy unit with a sealed bottom bracket. Similar to the Cruiser Classic Steel Deluxe, this has steel fenders to keep water from spraying up at the rider when going through puddles.

Past the age of 10, most people don't ride bicycles. Crazy, yes, but that's what the statistics say. To combat bicycle apathy manufacturers are releasing casual bikes meant to appeal to people that just want to bike around their neighbourhood for fun. Trek bikes, one of the world's largest bike manufacturers seeks to engage the lapsed biker with the Trek Lime.

The design of the bike is about making a statement and being simple with no hassle. The main feature of the bike is the Shimano Coasting gear system. A generator on the front wheel (hidden by the bulbous hub) powers an electric shifter that automatically adjusts to achieve the optimal pedal power. The Trek Lime is a 3-speed automatic. Raleigh and Giant are the other two manufacturers that are licensed to include the Coasting system on their bikes.

Other features that Trek has included to make this bike more convenient is a storage compartment underneath the seat which has enough room to house the essentials such as a wallet and quintessential iPod. The tires are puncture resistant so they are far less susceptible to popping due to nails and glass, and should last longer from regular wear and tear.

Lime comes in four different variations. His, His Lite, Hers, and Hers Lite. Each variation has its own colour pattern to distinguish it from the other versions. The Lite versions are priced at $499, while the non-Lite versions run at $579. A variety of customization options are available which allow you to add fenders, a bell, and a biking computer to track speed and distance.

The Trek Cruiser Classic Steel 3 is a 3-speed bicycle built for comfort. The 3-speed drive train has been implemented here to help when dealing with occasional hills. While the gearing system is a new addition from the Classic and Classic Steel, the tires and pedals remain the same as the other Cruiser models. The steel fenders that were missing on the Classic Steel are back, and similar to the Classic Steel and Classic Steel Deluxe the frame is made of low-cost steel.

As with most Trek Cruiser bikes, the tires are Bontrager Cruiser for a comfortable ride. The frame design allows you to sit upright while riding, rather than leaning forward to reach the handles. The Nylon platform pedals are comfortable and easy to use, and the seat is a Cruiser saddle with chrome rails. The Trek Cruiser Classic Steel Deluxe is a basic bicycle built for comfortable riding over short distances. It is has the same parts and construction as the original Trek Cruiser Classic Steel, but has steel fenders and fine detail work in the paint job. The bike uses a single-gear drive train as seen in the Cruiser Classic Steel, and the crank is a simplified 1-piece steel unit, as compared to the Cruiser Classic with its 3-piece alloy crank. The frame is also made of steel, rather than the Alpha White Aluminum of the Cruiser Classic.

As with all Trek Cruiser bikes, the tires are comfortable Bontrager Cruisers. The pedals are basic Nylon platforms for ease of use, and the seat is a Cruiser saddle with chrome rails. Slowing and stopping is controlled with coaster brakes, and an aluminum kickstand and chain guard are included.

The Trek Cruiseliner is a simplified cruising bike built for an easy and comfortable ride. It is similar to the Trek Calypso, but has several modifications to make it a more simple machine to use. The gearing system is scaled down to 3 rather than 7, and the coaster brakes are activated by pushing back on the pedals rather than being hand-controlled. They are similar in many ways, however, including the construction of the frame. The designs are the same, and both frames are made with light Alpha White Aluminum. Bontrager Cruiser tires are used for a comfortable ride. The pedals are Nylon platforms without clips or straps, and an aluminum kickstand, steel fenders and a chain guard are all included.

The Trek Calypso is a cruising bike for terrain with lots of hills. It is similar to the Trek Cruiseliner, but has 7 gears instead of 3 and uses a Tektro hand-controlled braking system rather than a coaster brakes. Apart from that the two bikes are very similar, both using Alpha White Aluminum in the frame and Bontrager Cruiser tires for a comfortable ride. The pedals are Nylon platforms without clips or straps, and an aluminum kickstand, steel fenders and a chain guard are all included.

The Kona Dew Drop is a low-end to mid-range commuter/road bicycle similar to the Kona Dew Deluxe. Unlike the Deluxe, the Dew Drop lacks an internal headset, but boasts a few higher quality components than the Deluxe (Shimano R505 Disc brakes, Velo Wrap Gel grips) as well as horned Kona Sweeper handlebars for added comfort. Otherwise, the Dew Drop sports the same features as the Dew Deluxe, including a sloping top tube and 7005 aluminum tubing.

The Dew Drop's Kona Sweeper handlebars provide an added level of comfort on those long rides, allowing for a more relaxed posture and greater freedom of arm placement. The Trek T 900 is a bicycle for two riders built for longer trips. Where the Trek Cruiseliner Tandem was built primarily for immediate comfort and ease of use, everything including the wheels, seats, drive train and components has been changed here to achieve a balance between comfort and speed. The tires are Bontrager Comfort Hard-Case which allow for some shock absorption while still presenting a hard surface to ride on. An 8-speed gearing system is used, and the pedals have clips and straps to keep your feet securely connected to the pedals for maximum transfer of force.

The Trek Cruiser Classic Steel is a low-cost bicycle built for short distances. This bicycle is stripped down to the basic essentials, and uses a single-gear drive train. The steel fenders that can be found in other Cruiser Classic bikes have been removed. Similar to the Cruiser Classic Steel 3 and Deluxe, the crank has been converted into a simplified 1 piece steel unit, and the frame is now built with a heavier low-cost steel.

The Trek Drift 1 is a basic casual bicycle for light riding. It's the same as the Drift 3, but doesn't shift gears. The frame is made of light Alpha White Aluminum, and the large Bontrager Cruiser tires cushion vibrations as you ride. The pedals are basic dual density platforms without clips or straps, and the seat is a soft cruiser saddle with chrome rails. The YikeBike is a super light and compact folding electric bike designed for city use. It weighs only 9.8 kg and can fold to 67×56×12 cm to be easily stored or carried in the included backpack. It is powered by a 1.2 kW motor which replaces a typical complex chain/gear/pedal system and is capable of reaching speeds up to 20 km/h. The LiFePO4 battery has a 10km range and can be charged in 30 minutes. The Trek Wingra is a road bicycle from the Gary Fischer Collection's Fast City line. The Wingra is the lowest-end offering from the line, which also includes the Waubesa, Monona, and Mendota. The four bikes are designed for urban cyclists looking for a bicycle that avoids the hunched-forward position of road bikes.

The Wingra is designed for budget-conscious, casual urban cyclists biking for transportation or fitness on city streets and bike paths. The aluminum frame renders it lightweight and fast, and it features a 24-speed Shimano drivetrain, the same as the midrange Monona model, less than the 27-speed Mendota, and more than the 8-speed Waubesa model. The Wingra also includes quick shifters, 700c wheels with puncture-resistant street tires, and is rack- and fender-ready. While the Wingra features the same basic design as the rest of the Fast City line, many of its components have been chosen to be budget-friendly.
