Cavalry CASD Eagle Series
The Cavalry CASD Eagle Series is a Solid State hard drive with SATA II and USB 2.0 connections which make it usable either internally or externally. Available capacities are 32GB and 64GB. Typical of current SSD drives, MLC NAND flash memory has been used giving it almost zero latency and 0.1ms seek time. Sequential read and write speeds of up to 170MB/s and 130MB/s respectively can be achieved along with a random read/write speed of 130MB/s and 45MB/s. Lightweight and durable, the series has been rated at over 2 million hours of operation, can function in temperatures between 0°C and 70°C and has an amazing 15000G of shock resistance while operating. The other model in the CASD series is the Pelican Series which is available in up to 128GB capacities and also has the USB 2.0 interface. Please note that since the product was recently released in September of 2009 there are no pictures of the actual Eagle series available yet, the similar Pelican Series was used instead.
