From ProductWiki, free unbiased product reports for the consumer.
The SkyScout from Celestron is a device that allows you to locate and identify virtually any celestial object. Includes a database of almost 10,000 stars, planets, constellations, and galaxies. The technology works using GPS to analyze the scope's position which then maps to the internal database of celestial bodies. The identified object is either displayed on the LCD screen or read aloud. Alternatively, you can choose an object that you want to observe and the SkyScout will navigate you to it. Updated objects can be downloaded from the web and put on the SkyScout using the SD memory card slot.
