Its acoustic suspension design incorporates dual 5” Polymer-Injected Mica Diaphragm (PMD) cone woofers and a 1” aluminum dome tweeter with a waveguide horn.
JBL SCS145.5

The JBL SCS145.5 is a complete 6-piece home cinema speaker package that sports four 100w satellite speakers, a 100w center speaker, and a 100w subwoofer. Part of the JBL SCS series, the JBL SCS145.5 competes with the JBL CS480 from the JBL Cinema Sound series. The SCS145.5 is in fact a predecessor and downgrade from the CS480. The JBL SCS145.5’s satellite and center speakers, for instance, feature only a 3” midrange versus a 3-1/2” midrange. In addition, the JBL SCS145.5’s center speaker supports a sensitivity of only 86dB versus 88dB. Nevertheless, the JBL SCS145.5 does still maintain many similar qualities/features with its peer, such as a powerful 8” bass-reflex low-frequency subwoofer driver designed to produce quality beats that leave the room shaking, not to mention dual video-shielded midrange drivers for extra power and clarity. One major difference between the two models, however, is that the JBL SCS145.5 utilizes a much more lackluster design versus the CS480’s attractive, contemporary finish. The benefit to the SCS145.5 is clearly seen in its reduced retail price of $349.99, a $50 savings from the CS480.

Polk Audio RM8 Center

The Polk Audio RM8 is a center channel loudspeaker which uses the motto: "Big Speaker Sound Without the Big Speaker". The Polk Audio RM8 is fairly small though the power it puts out is not remarkable for its size and it does not vary from the Polk Audio RM7 in anything significant except for price. It comes with a black (only one color available) non-resonant composite enclosure. The structural design is a three-sided cabinet focus to hopefully minimize its appearance on walls and shelves. The goal of the the RM7 design is for it to be unobtrusive and hidden. It comes with a cradle to make it easy to put it on a shield and measures 3-13/16" height, 9-7/16" width, 3-3/4" depth, the exact same size as the Polk Audio RM7.

The PSB Platinum C2 Center is a center speaker built to work with the PSB Platinum home audio set. This is a smaller sized alternative to the PSB Platinum C2, and while constructed with similar elements is missing the mids found in the larger model. It comes in a black ash or cherry finish, and is built to lie flat on a shelf or optional stand. It features a 1 inch tweeter mounted in the center and a pair of 6.5 inch woofers on either side. This combination allows coverage of the 55 Hz to 33 KHz audio range on the center channel. The cabinet construction shields the speakers from interference that may occur due to proximity to video cabling, and the Bass Reflex design allows for resonance that creates a richer tone.

The center speaker has an elongated shape designed to stretch out on the top of a TV. It includes such features as a 2-way acoustic suspension, 3rd order electro-acoustic crossover at 2.0 kHz, mineral-filled polymer enclosure, a suitable amplifier power range from 15 to 100 watts, and three choices of finishes: black, silver, or white. The Paradigm Cinema 110 Compact Theatre speaker system has been given good reviews, pointing out it doesn't often err, but when it does, it does it unobtrusively during the mellower sections of the sound instead of on the highs or lows where it would be more obvious. Since the full system gets good reviews for sound quality, the Paradigm Cinema 110 C compact center speaker can be assumed to be a decent buy.

The CS1 center speaker can work with with any Monitor Series speakers in a multi-channel system. A neodymium magnet, a standard for most sound devices works with a 1" Fabric/Polymer composite dynamic balance dome tweeter which serves the purpose of clarifying high frequency response for reproduction of vocals and instruments. A tuned flared port reduces "chuffing" port noise and increases the quality of the sound. Lightweight Bi-laminate composite dynamic balance drivers are used to create damping for high efficiency, bass, and lower distortions. It has a non-resonant all-MDF enclosure and reversible designed cabinents that can be turned upside down to aim up. The Polk Audio CS1 uses magnetic shielding to make sure it is safe to put near other electronic equipment.

It has a 2-way acoustic suspension system, a mineral-filled polymer enclosure, and a MagneShield. The Paradigm Cinema 220 speaker has a 4th-order electro-acoustic crossover at 2.2 kHz, a high-frequency 1 inch dome driver with an aluminum heat sink, two 5-1/4 inches ICP cone drivers, a 75 Hz low-frequency extension, a 93 dB sensitivity, max input power of 85 watts, an 8 ohm impedance and a suitable amplifier power range that goes from 15 watts to 110 watts. It comes in one of three color options: black, silver, or white. This allows the consumer to pick a color that might match their speaker, but it limits the amount of individual style. It has a stand, but that is sold separately. The Paradigm Cinema 220 is not a new speaker, and may be difficult to find out in the market.

The Boston Acoustics VS 325c is a 2-way bookshelf center speaker that sports dual 5-1/4” OCCM subwoofers, one 3” OCCM midrange, and a 1” super wide bandwidth tweeter. The third speaker in the Boston Acoustics VS series, the VS 325c is designed to compliment two VS 240/260 bookshelf speakers and two VS 336 floor-standing speakers in a 5.1 channel high definition theater system. Much like its peers, the VS 325c also competes with the Boston Acoustics HS models, especially the HS 225 center speaker. Unlike the HS 225, the VS 325c features a midrange speaker as well as dual subwoofers and a tweeter. In addition, the VS 325c supports a superior frequency (65Hz-30kHz versus 80Hz-25kHz) and an improved sensitivity (90dB versus 89dB). Although the VS 325c lacks some of the HS 225’s functionality (e.g. Deep Channel Design, Reduced Baffle Diffraction Design), the VS 325c features a lavishly-designed and super-elegant black lacquer piano finish cabinet and high-gloss furniture-grade end panels in either black or cherry. The VS 325c also comes equipped with MagnaGuard video shielding and gold-plated 5-way binding posts. The Boston Acoustics VS 325c is priced at $899.99, a $650 increase from the inferior HS 225.

Put together, they are the Cinema 70 Home-Theater Speaker System. The Cinema CC is visually similiar to the Cinema 70 satellite speakers but it is larger and is arranged horizontally. This makes it harder to stand up vertically without the help of the sold seperately expensive stand. If the speakers are meant to fill up a large room with sound, they won't, but they will perform admirably for a smaller space. The maximum input power is 50 watts and the suitable amplifier power range goes from 15 watts to 100 watts. The internal volume of the speaker is 2.9L, which is also 0.10 cubic feet. The speaker is 4-1/4 inches high, 12 inches wide and 5-5/8 inches deep. It comes with three options for finishes: Black, Silver or White.

Despite the downgrade, the MCS 130 LCR maintains many similar features with the HS models such as a Deep Channel Design for greater bass per less amp power, a Reduced Baffle Diffraction Design for wider/smoother sound dispersion, and MagnaGuard video shielding. The MCS 130 LCR also comes equipped with adjustable footing and build-in wall mount brackets to aid in correct positioning/mounting of the speaker, as well as a soft-touch finish and an optional P.O.P. grille for only $12.99 extra.

The Polk Audio CSR is a two-way center channel loudspeaker that comes in black and measures 7" in height, 19" in width, and 7.5" in depth. It has acoustically intert MDF cabinets and Polk Audio's Dynamic Balance polymer composite drivers that increase sound quality by reducing distortion. It uses driver baskets and butyl rubber surronds to increase the durability of the product while a 3/4" dome tweeter and a neodymium magnet (standard for most speakers) detail the highs of the sound. The Polk Audio CSR uses anti-diffraction grills, 5-way binding posts for secure inputs, and is magnetically shielded to allow it to be placed near any other electronic equipment without fear of damage or distortion. It is designed to fit in with any Polk Audio home theater or multi-channel music system, creating a better, seamless sound than if it were paired up with other manufacturer's products.

The manufacturer describes it as being a setup from the CS10, which means it is pretty much the same device, just with a little more suave and expense. It comes with a 1" Fabric/Polymer composite dynamic balance dome tweeter which serves the purpose of clarifying high frequency response for reproduction of vocals and instruments. A Neodymium magnet, standard for most sound devices, is included with the tweeter. Two 6-1/2" bi-laminate composite dynamic balance drivers are used to create damping for high efficiency, bass, and lower distortions. It has a non-resonant all-MDF enclosure and reversible designed cabinents that can be turned upside down to aim up. It comes with two wood finishes, black and cherry, and piano black side caps. It comes with magnetic shielding to let it be put near any electronic equipment without worry of distortion.

The PSB Platinum C4 Center is a center speaker built to work with the PSB Platinum home audio system. This is an upgrade option from the PSB Platinum C2, and features the addition of dual 3 1/2 inch midrange speakers. These have the same construction as the 6.5 inch woofers, also included, but use a smaller 10 ounce magnet. This helps to bridge the gap between the lower and upper frequency ranges, enabling a more precise rendering of the audio. The center tweeter is built with an aluminum dome to create a clear sound, and Ferrofluid is used to reduce distortion. The cabinet is built to shield the speakers from possible interference from cabling, and helps to give a deeper more resonant sound to the audio.

The Polk Audio RM7 is fairly small though the power it puts out is not remarkable for its size. It comes with a black (only one color available) non-resonant composite enclosure. The structural design is a three-sided cabinet focus to hopefully minimize its appearance on walls and shelves. The goal of the the RM7 design is for it to be unobtrusive and hidden. It comes with a cradle to make it easy to put it on a shield and measures 3-13/16" height, 9-7/16" width, 3-3/4" depth. It is magnetically shielded, making it safe to place next to or near electronic equipment such as computers, computer monitors or TVs.

It is designed with Dynamic Balance polymer composite drivers that help reduce distortion and smooth wide range sound. A 1-inch silk/polymer dome tweeter is included to increase the detail of the sound. Magnetic shielding makes the speakers versitile by allowing it to be placed around computer equipment without risk of disruption or damage to the equipment. For cooling the CSi A6 speaker has low viscosity ferror-fluid cooling and a heat sink on the back of its neodymium magnet. Gold-plated 5-way binding post inputs are used to create secure connections and butyl rubber is used for the surrounds to increase the durability of the product. On the whole there isn't much of a difference between the Polk Audio CSi A6 and the Polk Audio CSi A4.

The Polk Audio CSi A4 speakers are high performance center channel speakers. They are designed with Dynamic Balance polymer composite drivers that help reduce distortion and smooth wide range sound. A 1-inch silk/polymer dome tweeter is included to increase the detail of the sound. Magnetic shielding makes the speakers versitile by allowing it to be placed around computer equipment without risk of disruption. For cooling the CSi A4 speakers have low viscosity ferror-fluid cooling and a heatsink on the back of its neodymium magnet. Gold-plated 5-way binding post inputs are used to create secure connections and butyl rubber is used for the surrounds to increase the durability of the product. The external design of the product comes with either a black or cherry wood finish.
