In this follow-up to Heavier than Heaven, Cobain biographer Charles R. Cross has released this hard-cover Kurt Cobain collection of unrealeased photos, journals, and lyrics. Cobain Unseen contains many previously unseen artifacts and photographs from the Cobain estate's archives to form an intriguing portrait of the creativity, madness, and genius of Kurt Cobain. Many pages are "interactive", in that they fold-out, flip-out, contain a pocket or flap with a removable item (e.g. audio disk of cobain reading from his journals, or a thanksgiving card Cobain drew as a kid). These features and inclusions are the highlight of this photo-collage book.

Pros
- Photos are very fascinating (especially the early years)
- The early Cobain artwork and homemade cards are awesome
- The interactive pages are really cool (can pull out Cobain's certificates, audio disk, many pieces of early art, lyrics, etc.)
Cons
- Milking the Cobain estate even further for profit to Courtney Love
