It is about time that CocaCola has produced a product worthy of talking about.
With failures in some of its previous products like Coke II, Vanilla Coke and CocaCola Zero, CocaCola was itching to grab a new peice of the market that would make it famous.
Enter CocaCola Blak.
The mid-calorie drink was introduced first in
France, before making its way to the
United States and other markets. CocaCola Blak is a fusion of Cola and Coffee Extracts in a "Carbonated Fusion Beverage". I found it in New York City this weekend and brought some home (Southern Ontario, Canada). It was a hit. With a good mixture of coffe flavours and cola it is sure to please any coffee lover. This is Cokes way of trying to grab a peice of our coffe-loving population. With increased sales at Starbucks, Tim Hortons and other coffee shops, Coke saw a way to capitalize on the coffe market with a unique beverage in a stylish package.
While Pepsi did try to market a product called PepsiKona back in 1994-1996 in the
Lehigh Valley and
Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, it was said to taste more like coffee than cola and was dropped due to lack of interest. So goes the cola wars.
Give CocaCola Blak a try. I guarentee you will love it. It's different, delicious and a good pick me up at any time of the day.
