Much discussion has gone on about the $100 One-Laptop-Per-Child, including some heated ones here at ProductWiki. Turns out the $100 was an underestimation of the actual price which turns out will be closer to $175. The expectation is that major production will begin in October 2007 with the countries that have signed on so far (Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Pakistan, Thailand, Nigeria and Libya) although no one has stepped forward to place the first order.
