Announced on October 14th 2008 and immediately available from select e-tailers, the CX400W is a budget power supply. 50W less powerful and $15 cheaper than the next model up, the VX450W, the non-modular CX400W includes all of the features of a high quality power supply such as 80%+ efficiency, active power-factor correction, sleeved wires, and a thermally controlled 120mm fan. Like most quality computer components, the CX400W carries a 3 year warranty - falling short of the industry leading 5 year guarantee provided for the slightly more expensive Corsair models.

Pros
- includes all the features of the more expensive VX series
- near silent operation
- 80%+ efficiency
- comes with a 6+2 PCI-E cable which the vx450w does not
Cons
- not modular
- 3 year warranty falls short of the 5 year offered for the vx450w ($15 more)
- might not be powerful enough to support a video card that requires an 8-pin PCI-E power connection (possibly misleading)
