Released in August of 2004, Counter-Strike: Source is a remake of the orginal Counter-Strike 1.6 based on the new source engine produced for Half-Life 2. Featuring improved graphics, physics, and hitbox accuracy (all thanks to the improved engine) the game is essentially the exact same, down to the official maps. One of the most popular games made by Valve, Counter-Strike: Source was created primarily for the PC, but ports do exist. Enjoying a high 88/100 average on Metacritic, the game costs 19.99, and has been offered for half on promotional weekends.

Pros
- never gets boring despite simple game mechanics
- online play scales upwards into infinity
- doesn't require the latest cutting edge computer
- free third party maps and mini games
- Gun game!
Cons
- lots of waiting between rounds if you die early
- no single player - online multilayer only (requires internet connection)
- somewhat steep difficulty curve - not the best for amateur or less competitive gamers
