- better for the environment than gas burning alternatives

- as time passes the battery wears down faster and faster
- doesn't have the endurance of a gas powered mower - can die in the middle of a job and require recharging
- not as quiet and one might expect
- heavy
- slow to fully charge
- batteries are a little difficult to replace
- expensive - high initial cost and new batteries every few years
