Details
The first Crocs were sold at a boat show in November 2002 were all 200 pairs were quickly sold out. Crocs Inc. is based out of Colorado and has grown from its humble beginning to a company that employs more than 1100 people with revenue more than $350M (as of 2006).
A popular trend is for Crocs wearers (often children) to put Jibbitz in the holes of their shoes to decorate their Crocs to their liking. Jibbitz is a success story unto itself as it was acquired by Crocs Inc. in October 2006 for $20M after the Crocs co-founder Lyndon Hanson serendipitously met the daughter of the Jibbitz founder Sheri Schmelzer at a public swimming pool in Colorado. Hanson noticed the girl had little trinkets in the holdes of her Crocs, and gave her his card to give to her mother.
