Absolutely ridiculous. It's not like white bread is this tough material that requires a special tool to decrust. Either way, eat your crust!

There are some people who refuse to eat crust - adults and children. If a kid refuses to eat crust, what are you going to do? I'd rather chop it off all at once than cut through each side.
