$200.00 Released November, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Runs the easy to use, fully featured, aesthetically pleasing, free and open-source Boxee home theater software. HDMI output. Dedicated digital / analog audio outs.

The Cons:Non-standard form factor may not fit where you want to put it nicely. No internal storage (beyond the small 1GB of flash). Slightly high price and late to market compared to equivalent products from other manufacturers.

The D-Link Boxee Box is the company D-Link's first hardware unit and has a very unique and interesting visual design. Instead of a box, like the title advertises, the Boxee Box actually looks like a cube that has been submerged into the floor.

Erik: #d_link_boxee_box This looks like a pretty good buy to me at $199. I realize that the #apple_tv is $99, but it can't play your "downloaded" content. It's half as expensive as an HTPC, and runs the super slick Boxee UI and will play any media you throw at it. I'm liking the QWERTY remote from what I see in the photos. Nov 17, 10

Yale: #d_link_boxee_box Really wanted one of these but I couldn't wait, so I bought the #Western_Digital_WD_TV_Live a few months ago instead. While the WDTV lacks polish it does everything I want it to, and while I'd like some WiFi streaming compatibilities I'm happy I didn't wait. I'm not that much of a tech tweaker anymore, or social when it comes to what I watch. I'm pretty into the basics when it comes to my media - so the WDTV does just fine. Maybe in a couple years a better version, or simply a more mature software platform will get me to upgrade. Nov 16, 10
