The Xtreme N DIR-685 is a new all-in-one mashup wireless N router from D-Link. With an included 3.2-inch LCD screen and 2 USB ports, the DIR-685 features many abilities above and beyond the regular wireless router. Networking computers asside, the DIR-685 can display photos and real-time networked widgets as well as act as a NAS hub by connecting up to two external hard drives. The router even has enough smarts to act as a UPnP server or BitTorrent client with the attached storage. No price or release date has been confirmed.

Pros
- NAS built into home network router is brilliant and simple - saves power and cost
- Wireless N
- great for running widgets that pertain to router/bandwidth utilization
- can make exposed routers a little nicer to look at
Cons
- display adds too much cost to the device and might be considered useless to prospective users
- too ugly and small to be used as a digital picture frame
- the majority of individuals would make no use of the routers plentiful features or added speed
