I replaced a Kenwood that I purchased about 8 years ago so that i could go from Dolby Surround to all the new formats, like TrueHD and Dolby Digital. Power is 110 watts x 7 channels, I believe. For me, this amp has so much clean power, it's breathtaking. I like loud music, but i haven't ventured any further than about 1/2 power. No need too, above that would be abusive to my ears. I'm running it through 7 speakers + subwoofer. All the speakers are older and are rebuilt 3-way and 2-way models from Advent and Optimus (nothing fancy at all). I thought I might replace my speakers, but after setting up the system, I don't feel the need, as I'm quite happy with the sound. The setup microphone appears to work very well, and not only does it adjust the sound stage, but I also believe it adjusts treble and bass for each channel (though I'm not 100% sure on this), but after I ran the setup, musich and film seem very balanced with plenty of bass (I am running a external sub). The GUI interface with the TV is not the best, it's a little clunky, and the setup instructions are a little cryptic, but other than that, it's great!
