Dash Express

The Dash Express is the first internet-connected GPS receiver. The main benefit to the Dash is the real-time traffic updates that use the Dash Driver Network to show you traffic in your local area. The Dash Express connects to the internet via cellular or WiFi radios, depending on proximity. The GPS works without internet connection if there is none available. It's important to note that the internet connection associated with your Dash requires a monthly subscription fee ranging from $9.99/month to $12.99/month, depending on your commitment (2 year to monthly).

Cool concept. I really like the idea of a web-connected navigation system, and especially the ability to send maps to the Dash from your PC. HOWEVER...NOT IN CANADA or anywhere other than the US. Booh!

I would also like to see an open-platform that perhaps uses Google Maps and doesn't rely on proprietary software. And no web browser or video? C'mon..

Let it do use its wifi for occasionally using a laptop to browse the web. Or include a browser. Why not give access to the connectivity? Even charge extra- I'd pay double the monthly fee to be able to browse the web when I need to kill a little time before an appointment.
