The Definitive Technology BP-8080ST is a full-range floorstanding speaker designed for loud sound output. This is the top model in the series, following the Definitive Technology BP-8060ST by increasing the internal amplifier power to 455 watts and enlarging both the midrange drivers and subwoofer.

General construction remains consistent with a bipolar design projecting sound out through both the front and back for a more dispersed sound, and the 3 BDSS midrange drivers are used for a life-like tonal balance. A pair of 1 inch aluminum dome tweeters cover the upper range and a single 12 inch powered subwoofer works with a pair of radiators for better resonance and sound transmission. An 8 ohm impedance is used to reduce the effect of interference for a cleaner, distortion-free sound.
