Dell Inspiron 15

Dell Inspiron 1525 is a mobile machine intended for those who require a laptop with reliable wireless capabilities. The 1525 displays a 15.4” widescreen XGA, the largest of the Inspiron series, while all other features and options are relatively the same. Intel Core 2 Duo with a CPU speed of 2.00 GHz powers the processor, and up to 4GB shared Dual Channel is available for memory. As suggested, the Inspiron series hosts a bundle of features focused on providing strong, fast wireless internet connection. Mobile Broadband and Dell Wi-Fi Catcher make this a priority. (While other models in the series are equipped with Hyperband Multi-Antenna, the 1525 is not) The optical drive can either be a DVD/CD-RW Combo or DVD+/-RW with Dual Layer DVD+R write capacity. 4 USB ports, VGA and S-Video, and an 8-in-1 Memory Card Reader are standard for Inspirons, Dell has given the 1525 model a HDMI high definition video output.

This computer is TERRIBLE! I'm usually a huge fan of Dell, but this is just a piece of shit. I hate Windows Vista, of course, but I had no choice in the matter. Aside from that this computer is EXTREMELY quirky. It will not enter sleep mode sometimes (sometimes it's fine) and will run for hours after I put it in sleep mode and close it. It will not turn off if I don't wait for it to completely shut down before I close the lid - sometimes up to 45 seconds. On more than one occasion (because once could be a fluke) Internet Explorer will open window after window. It just keeps popping them up. Just tonight it opened almost 100 before it stopped. I turned off the WiFi card to see if that would help - no. It freezes constantly, it's SUPER slow. Dell has ignored my complaints about this computer. I HATE it.

Yes, personally I would never buy a Dell.

I suggest installing XP, see if that solves any of your problems. Just wait until your battery stops holding its charge a week or two after your warranty runs out ;)
