Dell Precision T3500

The T3500 is an entry-level model in Dell's Precision line of desktop computers. It targets professionals, particularly those in graphics-intensive fields, and features Intel Xeon architecture for fast, energy-efficient performance on a variety of single-socket workstation applications. Although Dell presents buyers with several choices in components and specifications with the T3500, any combination will produce at least mid-range performance. Buyers can opt for a CPU from Intel's Xeon 3500 or 5500 series, available in dual- and quad-core, and with a range of clock speeds and other specs. In its basic configuration, the T3500 features 1 GB of RAM and an 80GB hard drive, but it can be upgraded to 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage capacity. The T3500 also supports dual graphics, and is available with a range of graphics cards, from cheaper, 256MB models to a 1.5GB GDDR3 option in the form of the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4800. With broad customizability, Dell aims to satisfy a range of business needs with the T3500.

Supplied Quadro NVS 295 video card is only pcie x1 (not pcie x16) and is ghastly slow - unusable for aps like Acrobat reader 8 - For acrobat, be sure to turn on 2d gpu acceleration (in acrobat setup) so acrobat can cache stuff on the card, or you will be setting this system on the curb.
