Released August, 2010
The Pros:5" capacitive touchscreen display (800 x 480px resolution). Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU clocked at 1GHz. GPS.

The Dell Streak is Dell’s second smartphone and an upgrade from the original Mini 3 / Aero. It launched in August 2010 through AT&T with the Android 1.6 OS, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 5” (800x480) capacitive touch LCD display, worldwide 3G connectivity, and a slim design that critics say makes it a perfect fit for jean pockets.

They say it looks like a PSP, and that when mounted to a windshield, it can function as a GPS receiver. The problem, according to PC Magazine, is that it doesn’t stand up well to review. Complains include poor audio (headset essential), lack of compatibility with advanced Android (2.0+) applications & games, the lack of quality Microsoft Exchange support, and lack of compatibility with H.264, DivX, and Xvid video files. Plus the Streak doesn’t merge social-network contacts. In conclusion, most critics decry the original Streak’s reliance on Android 1.6 and recommend waiting for an Android 2.1+ upgrade.
