The Denon AVR-2809CI is one of 10 new 2008/09 av receivers models announced by Denon on May 21st, 2008. The 2809CI replaces the previous-generation AVR-2808CI. The AVR-2809CI is a 7.1 a/v home theatre receiver that features 4 HDMI v1.3a inputs, , a number of audio decoding technologies(Dolby Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Digital Surround EX, etc), and a 32 bit floating point DSP processor. A notable upgrade to the previous-generation is the addition of Audyssey's Dynamic Volume processing along with the already present Dynamic EQ option. Dynamic Volume is found on all ten models; it's a feature that levels the volume to a more-or-less constant level to avoid sudden changes in volume. This feature works together with the Dynamic EQ that dynamically adjusts the EQ settings to optimize the dynamic range. The Denon AVR-2809CI has a suggested retail price of $1199 and is expected to retail in July 2008 along with all other 2008/09 models.
