Denon AVR-3311CI

$1,199.00 Released June, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Warm sound. $300 price drop over previous generation AVR-3310CI. 6 HDMI inputs and 2 HDMI outputs (all 1.4a capable of 3D and audio return).

The Cons:Spartan, basic-looking UI. Mediocre network functionality - a dedicated media streamer or HTPC will be much better. No PC-VGA input.

The AVR-3311CI is Denon's mid-priced offering in their line of A/V receivers. The high-quality surround sound decoders (Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio) that are a fixture of Denon's A/V receivers are present here, though the AVR-3311CI has Audyssey's DSX surround processor instead of the Dolby ProLogicIIz processor that its cousin the AVR-2311CI has.

Product Shot 2 The automatic room acoustic correction feature, which utilizes the Audyssey MultiEQ XT system's microphone to tailor the settings for the richest possible surround experience, is standard on Denon's A/V receivers. The Anchor Bay Technologies VRS processor, which upconverts standard definition video sources to HDMI, is also standard in the Denon's line of A/V receivers. The AVR-3311CI is a step up from the AVR-2311CI in that it has ethernet connectivity, Pandora/Flickr access and PC streaming (also included on the AVR-4311CI).
