The high quality surround sound decoders (Dolby True HD, DTS-HD Master Audio) are a fixture of Denon's A/V receivers. The Anchor Bay Technologies VRS processor, which upgrades analog and digital video sources to HD quality, is also standard Denon A/V receiver fare. However, the AVR-4311CI has 9.2 channels of surround sound, as well as Dolby Volume, features which set it apart from the lower-cost AVR-3311CI and AVR-2311CI.
