Anonymous: #denon_avr_591 My old Pnasonic home entertainment center died. Trashed it, keeped the cheepo speakers that came with it. I got an AVR-591 A/V Reciever for Christmas. This system does not recognize the subwoofer that I plugged into the 591's "Subwoofer Pre Out". My subwoofer has no controls on it, it just plugs in. I will have to wait until I can afford better speakers to upgrade. Any suggestions on how I can use this subwoofer? Jan 16, 11

Anonymous: The subwoofer has to be a pre amp subwoofer. The Subwoofer output on the receiver is just a signal output. It doesnt output power. So to fix the problem you need a amplified subwoofer. Mar 1, 11
