The Denon AVR-891 is one of five 3D-ready, advanced audio/visual receivers released during summer 2010 as an upgrade from previous generation AVR models. All units host HDMI v1.4a Repeater Inputs with 3D/CEC compliance.

In particular, the 7-channel AVR-891 adds along multi-zone / multi-source functionality, meaning for instance that it can be configured for 7.2-channel surround sound, or setup at 5.1 in the front with a pair of second-zone speakers in the back. Plus the AVR-891 supports the latest generation of surround sound formats (Dolby TrueHD/DD+, dts-HD, etc.), analog to HDMI upscaling, HDMI to HDMI scaling, and 12-bit video processing/scaling from Anchor Bay Technologies (ABT). Additional features include 24-bit/192-kHz DACs, Audyssey Dynamic EQ, and an easy-to-use GUI.
