The Denon DVD-3800BDCI is the flagship Blu-ray player (aka disc transport) from Denon released in March 2008 for $1999. It has similar features to the step-down Denon DVD-2500BTCI ($999), but adds analog outputs and Silicon Realta sxT2 HQV video processing. Like the DVD-2500, the DVD-3800 will output lossless dts-HD MA, Dolby TrueHD, and raw 7.1 PCM bitstreams, but unlike the DVD-3800 it will decode dts-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD that can be output to the 7.1 line-level analog outputs. For CD audio, there is a pure direct mode that shuts down all non-essential circuitry for audio-only playback.
