"Sony is really really bad at software design, it would win a lot of support if it'd open up its platform for developers.  "

"This remote is a dream come true, the software is very intuitive. However the color display is just a "nice to have" but really doesn't help much. The price difference between the blue version and this one (~100$) might not warrant going color."

"Until we have cable cards here in canada we won't be able to do a real PVR, we can only do Tivo Like PVR with IR Blasters, which kinda suck."

In my spare time I like developping applications for Windows Mobile.

Also, you need to know that the HTC Touch that we have in Canada (CDMA Version, not Rogers) is faster and with more memory than the one described in most American Site (GSM Version). However it does not have Wifi like the American or European version. (Roger's GSM version does have Wifi, which means it is probably the slower version with less memory).

Hi Erik, Yes I am in Montreal (Repentigny Actually).

My applications are private for the moments, but I am starting to think about reselling them on Handango.com but they need more work to be suitable for the public.

As for HTC in Canada you have the choice between Telus and Bell, both have the CDMA version, or Rogers for GSM. however bell is offering an incredible 7$ unlimited data plan, I will be investigating this week and might be switching providers.

Nice. You've peaked my interest in the HTC Touch for sure. Apple missed a huge opportunity by not opening up their iPhone to third party developers such as yourself. Do you make your apps available to the public?

I see that your company is from Montreal, so I'm assuming you live in Quebec. Where can you get the HTC Touch in Canada? I live in Waterloo, ON.

Oh and as for the HTC Touch, it is a really nice phone, however I wrote my own clock with notifications for the start menu because theirs was too damn big, I am also writing a "Slide To Answer" program to make sure I don't answer phone calls by mistake.

Their TouchFlow cube is very limited, it is clear this was a marketing feature and not a real usefull one, however there are many software out there that do a better job a it, I will be writting one too.

I have an iPod Touch but no iPhone, however I've seen the iPhone in action and I don't like it, locked system really suck. I have been a Mac fan, but latelly I really start to hate Apple. Of course with a really open API the iPhone would be much better. If you are not in a hurry, wait for the HTC with Android comming sometime next year.
