"We got all the parts! 2 1 TB HDD's at Best Buy, on sale for $170 each. That $50 mobo we found, that A-DATA RAM you recommended, a nice power supply that's 550W and cheap ($60 after rebate) as well as 80+ Certified, that $25 processors that you found (1.9ghz AMD Semperon w/ heat sink and more
"Are there any DTV converter boxes on the site? You know, so you can watch TV with analog TV's after everything goes digital in the U.S? We just got a couple. You might want to make a category for that."

"I got the same email as well... and was thinking the same thing."

I do not have dial up internet anymore, it's high-speed!

About Me

I like Basketball, drumming, Halo 2, modded Xboxes, Popular Science when they don't have incredibly stupid articles, like the one about the 2017 workplace, and emulating the N64 with Project64. I also really want a 360, but have a lack of cash. I recently came across an iPod touch, which does have it's flaws, but is still a pretty good player.

I hate the PS1, PS2, and PS3, and Microsoft Windows on and off. And all other Microsoft Product's except Xboxes. And their mice. I like Microsoft Mice. But not their Microsoft Mouse software.

My Stuff

  • I recently started a blog, The World According to dialup. It's my take on various things, from life, to iPods, to other blogs. Expect more content soon.
  • I'm on Facebook. It's kind of a love/hate thing.I'll friend you if you can figure out what my real name is.
  • I have a StumbleUpon. If you've never heard of them before, you're living under a rock. Here's a link to my profile.
  • I'm also duiu_ on Last.fm. I'm into everything from Sufjan Stevens, to The Killers, to Led Zeppelin, to Eminem. I also highly recommend Vampire Weekend.
  • If for some reason you need to email me, it's dialupinternetuser at gmail dot com.
  • I've been meaning to get a FriendFeed. It's a pretty cool service. It aggregates (combines) all you activity on the internet.

I added the webclip icon to the site, check to see if it works with your iTouch.

I definitely agree that DTV Converters should be a category. As we get closer to Feb2009 a lot of people are going to need to know what the heck is going on, and what's best for them.

As for RAM, I have a whole bunch of A-DATA RAM and it's great:

For PSU, I'd suggest buying a case that comes with a PSU. If you already have a case, I recommend getting a PSU that is 80 Plus certified (low power consumption, high-efficiency). Here's Newegg's cheapest:

It's fairly expensive, but you might end up saving that amount of money in electric bills.

Hey, if you're in the market for a 360 you should check out this deal that Microsoft and eBay are doing. I wrote up a thread for details (link).

will do :)

That's awesome, it's unfortunate that it's limited to Vista users... and you have to use Windows Media Center. But for those that already have that setup, connecting it to your NetFlix is very sweet.

The embedded joke in your program. I was looking over his shoulder when I saw duiu+1 on Omar's console.

Genius, pure genius..

Hi and thanks for the welcome.

I'll make a point of showing up on the IRC channel at some point during the next few days, but when depends on how crazy work is. Also, I like to think of myself as a good person. People generally agree with that assessment. ;)

Haven't tried them yet, but I think I will soon. I'm thinking that a new HTPC + XBMC + Linux (or Windows) might eventually replace my Xbox + XBMC. The reason: HD!

I'll definitely post something when I do.
