DISH Network ViP622 DVR

The DISH Network ViP622 DVR is a high-definition digital video recorder for use with the DISH Network. It can also receive local over-the-air (OTA) broadcasts in HD. It supports both the older MPEG-2 and the newer MPEG-4 standards for broadcasts. It can record two satellite shows and one OTA show at once. The DISH Network ViP622 DVR is unique in that it has USB ports on the back for use with digital cameras and external hard drives for multimedia functions like picture slideshows, and the ability to add external storage to the already included 320GB. It can output to two TVs at once, with one TV getting satellite and OTA, and the second TV only getting satellite. It also has a wide array of video and audio outputs, as well as telephone (for ordering pay-per-view and on-screen caller ID) and ethernet ports (currently unused). It is no longer officially sold by DISH Network, as it has been succeeded by newer Dish DVR's, however it is still available for purchase through other retailers.
