After moving from Italy to Hermosa Beach, California, Francesco Gillia learned how longboard. Disappointed in the quality of most plywood skateboards, he and his brother, Marco, began incorporating them into the product line of their woodworking studio, Bottega Montana. The limited-edition DWR Skateboard (2007), a Bottega Montana Corvetta model, is numbered (only 57 will be produced) and has the number and DWR logo burnished on the underside. This combination of woods and the board’s stripe sequence are also exclusive to DWR. Based in Lima, Montana, the brothers use only North American hardwoods from sources that practice sustainable forest management. The wood is treated with three hand-rubbed coats of natural tung-oil and varnish resin. The Skateboard is assembled with Seismic® trucks (quick geometry fronts, stable geometry backs), Blast Wave 78mm wheels and Bones® Reds™ bearings. Made in U.S.A.
