The Eclipse AVN4430 is a DVD-Video A/V head unit built for use in automobiles. It handles both CDs and DVDs with conventional audio/video, as well as MP3 and WMA audio files. It can also connect to an iPod (iPC-409 required cable required), or in fact be hooked up to an external MP3 player via its included USB interface. What really sets apart this unit, however, is its 4.3” portable navigation unit, which can be removed from the receiver and used seperately. Mind you, the unit must be connected to a compatible phone device with a data plan to utilize its services: TomTom navigation, TomTom Traffic, and even MapShare. These allow users to navigate towns (GPS), keep abreast of the latest traffic, and even correct the maps with custom data. Other notable features of the Eclipse AVN4430 include a rear-view cam out what seeing what’s happening when driving in reverse; interfaces for XM & SIRIUS tuners; and integrated Bluetooth technology in the nav unit.
