1. commented on Apple MacBook 2.0GHz Black - September 26, 2006 at 12:11 am

"$2000 and above is a lot to spend on the Pro versions of the Macbook, but the black macbook has just enough cool to it to make it almost as special. One thing that has impressed me about the new intel platform is the versatility of Operating Systems that can be run on it. Not just with Boot Camp, but also the third party application called Parallels Desktop. You can run any x86 operating system inside a window on your Mac or fullscreen, even run more than one OS at once. I saw one at the store that was running Ubuntu Linux inside a window on the desktop. You can do the same with Win XP if you have a license for it (Ubuntu is free)."

2. commented on 2006 Trek Portland - September 26, 2006 at 12:04 am

"I saw this bike at my local bike store; it really stood out for some reason. Maybe it's the orange paint job and the disc brakes, but I think some of its appeal has to do with it being a practical commuter with its included mud guards. I live in Seattle and clearly this bike has Northwest commuters in mind (frequent rain). Yet despite this pragmatic side of the bike it has a techy urban cool to it you don't typically see in bikes with fenders.. The price is right too."
