May 14, 2009 at 10:27 am

"I love my bodybugg! I'm not sure why people complain about the web application fees - no one complains that they have to pay TiVO on a monthly basis, and truthfully, you don't HAVE to pay for the web fees if you have a device display. The device display tells you real-time how many calories you're burning.

Nor do I necessarily understand why it's a con that the device doesn't include a Heart Rate Monitor. It's not needed for the accuracy of the device; when you consider that the basic physiology of folks allows for a huge range of difference in heart rates (220-age is a very loose estimation and incorrect for much of the population). Additionally, consider that many medications, sleep and environmental factors influence heart rate; rate of perceived exertion is much more accurate.

The application DOES support the Mac now.

Within the first 12 weeks, I lost 10 lbs & that was unheard of for me. I was one of those people who said, "I have a slow metabolism..." what I *had* was sitting-on-my-butt-itis! I wasn't moving enough! The bodybugg is to activity what food journaling is to nutrition; where food journaling exposes those "oops! I didn't realize I was eating that" moments, the bodybugg exposes those times when you're not moving. Because I don't want to see those short 1 calorie per minute lines on my daily graph, I MOVE!

Very motivating!"
