Pros
- good frequency response - strong bass down to or below 50Hz
- smooth treble
- respectable 5-1/2" woofer
- great value - sound like a speaker that would cost twice as much
- can play extremely loudly without any distortion or compression
- bass is tight - although not the best aspect of the speaker
Cons
- rear-vented, requires at least 2 feet of space from the wall to sound their best
- poor black ash enclosure - real wood veneers are/were available
- subwoofer is required for a better bass response and stronger presence
- expensive for the majority of consumers
