The Epson WorkForce 500 is an inkjet-based all-in-one machine with copy, scan, print, and fax capabilities, as well as built-in duplexing. Print speeds are fast, ranging up to 33 pages per minute, with a maximum colour resolution of 5760x1440 dpi. The flatbed platen is letter size, with a hardware resolution of 1200x2400 dpi. The fax feature uses a 33.6 Kbps fax modem and has a 180-page out-of-paper memory. PC-free photo printing is supported, using PictBridge-compatible USB devices, as well as all major types of flash-memory cards. On-printer photo editing is an option, using the included 2.5" LCD viewscreen. Included with the editing options is Auto Photo Correction, which automatically adjusts lighting levels in badly exposed photos. Printing utilizes a four-cartridge system, with one black cartridge and individual colour cartridges. High-capacity versions are also available.
