The Etymotic ety8 is a mid-priced isolating bluetooth canalphone. Featuring the same balanced driver technology used in their more expensive ER4 design, the ety8 also shares the same unbeatable isolation as the rest of the Etymotic line. At $249 with the iPod transmitter or $199 for the earphones only, these are a great option for high fidelity travel and on-the-go listening, with unsurpassed background noise isolation. It is important, however, to be aware of the dangers of such high isolation. Wearing these in public expose an unexperienced wearer to all sorts of common hazards such as traffic. Specifically designed for use with iPods and other portable players, the ety8 are the first canalphones to give you the freedom from wires, and those accidental and painful jerks some canalphone wearers are all to used to.
