The Everex GREEN gPC TC2502 is the first mass-market $200 desktop computer. It features a customized, cleaned-up version of Ubuntu Linux known as gOS or and comes pre-loaded with the most popular open-source software such as Firefox, Skype, OpenOffice.org 2.2, GIMP, Xing Movie Player. It relies heavily, and integrates with many web sites and web applications like gMail, YouTube, Facebook, and Wikipedia. It is marketed as a "green" product as its CPU only draws about 2 Watts of power idle (the whole system still requires 20 to 30 Watts though), and runs at a very quiet 28 dB (for reference, a typical 80 mm CPU fan runs at 50 dB).

The GREEN gPC is based off of a VIA Mini-ITX mainboard and VIA C7-D CPU. Running on the gOS Linux distribution it features deep integration with Google web services including gMail, Google Calendar, and includes a Google search widget on the desktop. It is sold exclusively at Wal-Mart. Everex is actively involved in Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) projects and encourages developers to participate in developing their platform.
