The eVGA nForce 780i SLI FTW is an updated version of eVGA's original nForce 780i SLI motherboard. The FTW version is updated for enhanced scalability and extreme overclocking stability even under heavy loads. To optimize overclocking stability it comes installed with a built in water block that supports either liquid or air cooling. It also provides dual gigabit LAN like its predecessor, 8 channel HD audio as opposed to 7.1, and 8 SATA 2 ports instead of 6. Of course matching the original board the FTW mobo also supports 3 way SLI through 3 PCI-e x16 slots, and socket LGA 775 support for Intel processors (45nm Intel microprocessors/ Quad-core / Core 2 Extreme / Core 2 Duo and Pentium). For peripherals the board also contains 4 Dual Channel 240pin DDR2 1066MHZ (up to 1200MHz, 8GB max) slots, 3 PCI-e x16, 1 PCI-e, 2 PCI, 8 SATA-2 3GB/s connectors, 2 x1GB LAN ports, and 6 USB 2.0 ports. The FTW board was released on 7/25/2008 and retails at an MSRP price of $259.

Pros
- supports 3-way SLI
- supports up to 8GB of DDR2 1200MHz
- superior power regulation over lesser models (8-phase design)
- well engineered and high quality construction - all capacitors are solid state, chipset cooler tilts towards CPU heatsink, designed for good airflow
- superior southbridge compared to 750i SLI based models allows for more internal system connections
Cons
- featuring the same chipset cooler as lesser models this is probably one hot momma
- getting fairly expensive, especially for young gamers
