Facebook for iPhone

Facebook for iPhone is an application released by the popular social networking site of the same name in July of 2008. While there’s been numerous updates since the initial release, the current version lies at 3.02. Much of the core functionality of the full Facebook site is accessible through the iPhone counterpart, save for direct access to applications and other minor features supported by the regular site. However, when something like Application access is not directly available, Facebook for iPhone will open a browser window in order to provide access. In addition, users can interact with their News Feed by viewing, commenting and “Liking” content posted by friends. Facebook Pages are fully supported, along with Upcoming Events with the ability to RVSP. User created videos and photos can be uploaded and fully managed. While push notifications are not yet supported, they are expected to be available with the release of version 3.1.
