Fon Fonera 2.0g

The Fonera is a second generation wireless G router from Fon. Designed as part of a social wireless access project, the affordable Fonera creates dual wireless networks - one private and the other public. Users who purchase the device and open their public networks to other members of the community receive free WiFi in return whereas those who do not can pay for access (part of that income is given back to those who provide the access). The Fonera 2.0g builds on the previous generation of Fon routers by adding a USB port which allows the device to share resources of USB-storage, webcams or printers. Attaching a 3G modem will permit the device to share an internet connection with users. The Fonera 2.0g was withdrawn following the introduction of the 2.0n router.
