Details
Fonera 2.0n has a USB port that allows users to connect an external hard drive, webcam or printer. Fonera 2.0 firmware provides more functionality than previous Foneras, including the ability to: share data wirelessly, upload videos or photos automatically to various social networking sites like YouTube, Flickr, Picasa and Facebook, or download torrents or files directly from sites such as BitTorrent, Rapidshare, and Megaupload, without a computer running at the same time.
Fonera 2.0n also enables users to backup files via WiFi to a hard drive, print, and provides remote access to an attached webcam. Attached external storage can be used to make the device function as a NAS. It can also use a 3G USB dongle to connect to the Internet (and share this connection). Fonera 2.0n is based on Open Source and developers are encouraged to create and share additional applications. The 2.0n firmware also claims to support the OLPC standard for mesh-networking, thus allowing a cluster of these devices to provide wireless coverage for a wide area.
