Foxconn P43A-S

The Foxconn P43A-S is a mid-grade consumer friendly motherboard designed with the Intel P43 chipset. It is preceeded by another model, the P43A. The P43A-S supports socket LGA 775 Intel Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Duo, and Pentium Dual-Core processors (additional support for 45nm multi-core processors). The P43A-S supports a FSB (Front Side Bus) of 1333, 1066, and 800 MHz; 1600MHz is also available through overclocking. For memory the P43A-S includes 4 240 pin DIMM slots which support dual channel DDR2 1066+ ram modules up to 16GB maximum. Unlike other mid-grade and low-end motherboards the P43A-S offers ATI Crossfire support through 2 PCI-E x16 gen 2.0 ports for combined GPU processing power for advanced gaming and applications (Crossfire mode PCI-E speeds; x16, x4). The P43A-S also features a Realtek ALC888GR audio chipset for 7.1 channel HD audio support. The board also includes a Realtek RTL8110SC gigabit LAN and 12 USB 2.0 ports for additional peripherals as well as ATA133, 2 1394a, 6 SATA II, 1 eSATA (which the P43A doesn't have), 1 PCI-E, and 3 PCI slots. For added user compatibility the motherboard pins also include Colour-coded EasyPin headers enabling quick and easy connection of internal hardware and devices. The Foxconn P43A-S was released on August 19, 2008 and has an MSRP of $139.99.
