Weighing at 163 pounds, the somewhat heavy SM18L30A outputs up to 17,500 BTU of cooling power. Like its peers in the Friedrich SL series, the Friedrich SM18L30A features unique ComfortWatch technology that works to maintain a more even temperature by monitoring and anticipating fluctuations in room temperature. Plus, the SM18L30A adds along a mosquito trap, Entrygard protection that secure the chassis to the sleeve, and a 24-hour timer that lets the user program on/off times while also backing-up the settings in case of a power interruption. The SM18L30A also includes fresh-air intake & stale-air exhaust valves, an easy-to-clean antimicrobial filter for protection against bacterial growth, 8-way air flow control, and a remote control for convenient/simplified adjustments to the unit from a distance.
