The Friedrich X-Star XQ10L10A is a window air-conditioning unit that weighs approximately 83 pounds. As part of the X-Star line, it is the second most-powerful with an output of 8000 BTUs. This unit features a 24-hour timer that lets the user program on/off times, which are completely backed up in memory if the power is ever interrupted. This X-Star’s fan speed is automatically adjusted by way of its 8-way airflow system in order for the desired temperature to be constantly maintained. This air conditioner is highly efficient as it is rated at 10 EER, but is not Energy Star qualified. The XQ10L10A also includes a washable, antimicrobial filter that protects against long-term fungal and bacterial growth. To improve the installation and maintenance process, a slide-out chassis with a rust-proof drain pan is an integral part of this unit. A remote control is also included for adjustments from the other side of the room.
