October 31, 2008 at 11:24 am

"I purchased a Access HD DTA 1020U and it continuiously has static noise over the audio signal. I have tried connecting the unit both with coax and with RCA cables and neither connection offfers any improvment. According to the HD 1020 singal strength meter my antenna signal is very good. I contacted GXI the manufactor and they will charge send me a new one with a return label for the old. However, they require a 40 deposit until they receive the old back. Once the defective unit is received they will test it. If it is good they will charge me $20 to return it or the full price of a new one? Or if it is bad they will charge me $20 for shipping and I can keep the new one.. I think this seems pretty unfair if the unit is defective that I have to pay $20 to get a new one?? basically half the cost of a new one?
Of course when call there customer support 800-393-1246 it puts you through multiple prompts and you cannot get to a actual person to speak to.. I ended calling GXI in NC @919-550-3221 and the lady that assisted me tried to be helpful but, said this was all she could do and that is just the way it is...?? I'm sorry but this is must be some of the worst customer service I have ever expireanced.. I can understand they cannot just give everyone a new one if there is a complaint but, it seems odd to me that they would pay a service tech to test the product when the retail cost is only $59 and their cost is obviously much less.
I would not recommend their products to anyone."
