The Garmin Edge 205 is a personal cycling computer with GPS receiver, and the most basic of Garmin's Edge series of cycling assistants. It has a high-sensitivity receiver that gives accurate locations even in tree cover, and calculates speed and distance. It also records past workouts and allows racing against past personal times, or against a virtual partner. The Auto Lap can also be used to start timing a new lap automatically when a certain destination is reached. Data from the Edge unit can be transfered to a computer to be analyzed in Garmin Training Center software, or Garmin's online workout communities as well. The Edge 205 is designed to be easy to set up and use, and includes a bike mount and rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
