The Garmin StreetPilot 7500 is a high-end automotive GPS receiver. Discontinued, it is hard to find at all, and is usually priced above $1000. It features a large, 7-inch, touch-screen display, whose brightness adjusts automatically based on ambient light conditions. The core navigation functionality includes preloaded City Navigator street maps with a large point-of-interest database, and turn-by-turn voice directions. It accepts custom points of interest as well, for which the user can set proximity alerts. With an optional XM subscription, the StreetPilot 7500 uses its integrated satellite radio receiver to provide real-time traffic and weather data. The unit has an integrated MP3/audiobook player with speed-adjusted volume levels, and an A/V input for use with a DVD player, camcorder, or game console. It includes all of the StreetPilot 7200's features, plus dead-reckoning technology, which maintains positioning data if the satellite signal is lost in dense urban areas or tunnels. The StreetPilot 7500 is one of the most advanced and expensive consumer GPS devices ever produced.
