The HD1900 is an entry-level model in a series of monitors released by Gateway in late summer of 2008. The HD1900 features a 19” widescreen display at a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a maximum resolution of 1440 x 900. This design makes the HD1900 ideal for multimedia, including viewing video, photo editing and gaming. The contrast ratio is rated at 1000:1, meaning users will see distinct blacks and whites along with its 5-millisecond response time, which alleviates blurring with fast moving imagery. This monitor can display both digital and analog content using the DVI-D (with HDCP) or VGA port, respectively. This monitor is capable of displaying 720p video, but cannot display full 1080p images. The Gateway HD1900 meets Energy Star regulations, consuming fewer than 38 watts and only 2 watts when not in use. Users looking for larger screens should look at the other monitors in the series; the HD2201 and the FHD2401.
