Gateway HX2000
$150.00
Released January, 2010
The Pros:Picture quality is incredibly clear - high contrast ratio provides vivid color balance with minimal blurring/pixelation amongst high-quality content. Built-in speakers provide adequate sound outputting - middle and high frequencies and well-represented with minimal "tinniness" throughout treble range. Stripped-down feature set is excellent for users running the product as a secondary monitor - unit is very easy to setup and adjust.
The Cons:Unit-mounted physical controls are awkwardly placed - underside placement makes volume adjustment and menu navigation very difficult.
The Gateway HX2000 is a 20” computer display monitor released in early 2010. It sports a flat panel with a sleek, space-saving design. More importantly, the HX2000 delivers a 1600x900 resolution with a 5ms response time and 50,000:1 contrast ratio.

It’s designed to give “sumptuous” blacks/colors, but it’s very limited in functionality. Although it supports VGA and DVI (with HDCP), the HX2000 lacks 1080p resolution and an HDMI input, which greatly limits its usefulness. On the other hand, the unit does come equipped with integrated speakers, a display stand with an adjustable tilt, and a Kensington security lock slot.
